Chamber Music

Barnaby is an accomplished chamber musician, appearing regularly with artists including Andras Schiff, Michael Collins, London Winds, Artur Pizarro, Thomas Adés, Belcea Quartet & London Conchord Ensemble.

With the latter, he has recorded the Poulenc 'Clarinet Sonata' & 'Sextet' for ASV & given broadcasts of the Brahms 'Clarinet Trio' for BBC Radio 3.

At the 2006 Belfast Festival, Barnaby appeared with the Artur Pizarro Trio in a performance of Messiaen's 'Quartet for the End of Time'. Hailed by the Belfast Telegraph as the "highlight of the festival" this concert was subsequently broadcast on BBC Radio 3.

As a founder member of the Zanfonia Trio, Barnaby has performed & recorded much of the repertoire for clarinet, violin and piano. The BBC Music Magazine praising their most recent recording as a 'fine disc…leaving me hungry to hear more'.

With the Soloists of the Philharmonia, Barnaby performed Mozart's 'Clarinet Quintet' & 'Kegelstatt Trio' at St George's, Bristol, on the anniversary of the composers 250th birthday in January 2006.

In 2007, Barnaby performed Steve Reich's "New York Counterpoint" in several European summer festivals and with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields Chamber Ensemble, performed the Schubert Octet throughout the UK.

Highlights for 2008 include a 'CD' recording & concert tour of Messiaen's 'Quartet for the End of Time' with the Soloists of the Philharmonia and recitals of Mozart & Schubert with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra Ensemble.
